The ashes of the Russian Opera singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky will be buried in Moscow’s Novodevichy cemetery, told RIA Novosti the Metropolitan Department of trade and services.

Hvorostovsky died Wednesday morning on 56-m to year of life after heavy and long illness. At the end of June 2015, the singer, for many years lived in London, announced that she was suffering from a brain tumor.

According to authorities, the government agreed to the burial on one of the most famous cemeteries of the capital, where are buried outstanding figures in politics, science and culture. The exact date of the ceremony is still unknown.

Previously, the composer Igor Krutoy said that the farewell to the singer will probably be held in the Moscow Concert hall named after Tchaikovsky, Monday, November 27. According to Joseph Kobzon, Hvorostovsky bequeathed to cremate him and bury the ashes in the capital and his native Krasnoyarsk.

Hvorostovsky began performing on the stage of the Krasnoyarsk Opera and ballet theatre, even when I was in the third year. In five years of working in the theatre, he became an Opera star of Krasnoyarsk, and played in all the major productions, and international recognition came to him after winning the TV contest Bi-bi-si «singer of the world».

The world’s first Opera Hvorostovsky was held in nice, where he sang in the Opera of Peter Tchaikovsky «Queen of Spades». After that, the young artist was invited to established Opera festivals, and its voice has sounded in the world’s best theatres such as the Royal Opera house in Covent garden, the Metropolitan Opera in new York, La Scala and Vienna state Opera.
