Experts from the University of Edinburgh suggested that life on Earth could be covered with streams of cosmic dust, according to the resource Phys.org.

Scientists believe that the strong streams of cosmic dust, moving at speeds up to 70 kilometers per second, can carry the smallest living organisms. In particular, experts say that the cosmic dust which is constantly «bombarding» the Earth’s atmosphere, could knock out beyond earth’s gravity, the small particles located at an altitude of 150 kilometers or more above the surface, and they eventually reach other planets.

The researchers argue that a similar situation could occur on other planets, with the result that living organisms can get from one celestial body to another.

However, experts note that some of the living entities, in particular bacteria, plants, tardigrades (microscopic invertebrates), able to survive in open space, which confirms the speculation of experts.

Previously, scientists believed that the only «carrier» of living beings from one planet to another planet are the asteroids.
