The UK foreign office expressed condolences to the family of famous Russian Opera singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky, who died Wednesday at 56-m to year of life.

«We are saddened by the news of the death of Dmitry Hvorostovsky. The famous singer and the winner of the competition BBC Cardiff for the title of best singer in the world. Our condolences to his family and friends», — is spoken in the message of Embassy of great Britain in Moscow on Twitter.

As explained by RIA Novosti, the foreign Ministry of great Britain, this statement is made on behalf of the head of the Ministry Boris Johnson.

Earlier Wednesday, the family of the singer announced on his page in Facebook that he died. Hvorostovsky has died on 56-m to year of life after long illness. At the end of June 2015, the singer, for many years lived in London, announced that she was suffering from a brain tumor.
