The main military Prosecutor’s office opened another criminal case against the former Minister of revenues and duties Oleksandr Klymenko — by the article «gosizmena», said Wednesday the press service of the security service of the country.

According to the SBU, law enforcement officers have received additional materials that Klimenko, when he served as Minister, his actions «deliberately harmed the economic and information security of Ukraine, sovereignty, territorial integrity and inviolability» of the country.

«Based on the collected employees of SB of Ukraine of materials of the main military Prosecutor’s office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine 17.11.2017 year began criminal proceedings under article 111 («high treason») Criminal code of Ukraine», — stated in the message Department posted to Facebook.

The sanction of article prescribes punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term up to 15 years with confiscation of property. Investigations are continuing.

The Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine has completed in April the pre-trial investigation in another case Klimenko, who was declared wanted in late July 2014. Earlier the former Minister was invited for questioning to the Prosecutor General, but he was not. According to the investigation, Klimenko organized in Odessa, Kiev, Donetsk and Kharkiv regions of the enterprise, which was engaged in customs clearance in Ukraine at a lower cost. In addition, according to the Supervisory authority, in 2012-2013 Klimenko associates with organized scheme of tax evasion by enterprises of the real sector of the economy.

Also in the summer the chief military Prosecutor Anatoly Matios reported that Klimenko notified on suspicion in creation of criminal group and abuse of office. Klimenko and former officials of the Ministry of income and charges are suspected of causing damage to the state in the amount of 96 billion hryvnia (about $ 3.5 billion).
