The UK occupies sixth place among the largest economies in the world, said Finance Minister Philip Hammond.

From fifth place, where the UK was in 2013, it was replaced by France. First place in the rankings, according to the IMF, is the USA, followed by China, Japan and Germany.

Hammond recalled that, according to the IMF forecast, in 2018, UK GDP will grow by 1.5%, while this growth will be 1.7%.

However, the office for budget responsibility the UK amid uncertainty with Brexit downgraded the forecast for GDP growth in 2017, it will be 1.5% instead of the previously expected 2% in 2018 and 1.4% in 2019, and 1.3% in 2020, — 1,5%, in 2021 of 1.6%.
