The court of Yakutia sentenced to probation two local residents who fired from rifles insulators power lines and blacked out more than 106 thousand people in five districts of the Republic, in addition, inmates within two years is forbidden to drink alcohol, said on Thursday the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia in the region.

The incident occurred in early October of this year. As explained in the Ministry of interior, insulators fired at least 15 times from firearms. The police opened a criminal case under article «reduction in worthlessness of objects of life-support» and detained two suspects — residents of the Nyurba and Khangalassky areas. They seized two firearms and shotguns. Men made a fire, being in an alcohol intoxication. Due to damage to power lines remained without electricity for 106 thousand people in five districts of the Republic, as well as schools, hospitals, kindergartens.

«Court convicts sentenced to imprisonment for one year and ten months probation with a probation period of two years each. On them the duty at least twice a month to be a mark of the criminal-Executive inspection and not to consume alcohol during the entire trial period. Otherwise, a suspended sentence will be replaced by real,» — said in the message.

It is noted that the convicted admitted his guilt and reimbursed the damage for the sum about 650 thousand rubles.
