Resident of Dagestan and a member of the gang «Khasavyurt sector» Shamil Magomedov was sentenced to 15 years in a penal colony for assault on police in December 2016, according to the website of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation on Thursday.

Twenty-fifth of December of last year in Makhachkala fired at the PPP. In the attack two policemen were killed and another was seriously wounded. One of the participants of the shooting was Magomedov.

The investigation established that in September 2016, Magomedov joined the illegal armed formation «Khasavyurt sector», whose leader was Walid Mazaev. Magomedov provided the housing members of the gang, he participated in the construction of the dugout in a forest near the village Endirey Khasavyurt district, day and night guarding it, and did other errands.

The policemen was shot on the road «Makhachkala-Kaspiysk», when they tried to check documents Magomedov, Rashid Asylbekova and Umida Ahrarova. After the shooting, the criminals fled the scene and was declared wanted.

Magomedov was detained January 1. With him was concluded pre-trial cooperation agreement. Twenty-first day of January in the village Ahead of the Kizlyar district was liquidated and Asylbekov Akhrarov they opened fire on the police officers while trying to arrest. The fifth of September in Khasavyurt also at attempt of detention at the police started shooting Walid Mazaev — then was shot by a police officer and one civilian, caught nearby, is killed. Mazaev were eliminated by return fire.

«The evidence accepted by the court sufficient for conviction against Shamil Magomedov Magomedov… sentenced to 15 years ‘imprisonment in a penal colony with restriction of freedom for a period of one year», — stated in the SC.
