If the Jewish community believe that the Crimea and Sevastopol is Russia, then the US government will have to listen to it, said to RIA Novosti state Duma Deputy from the Crimea Ruslan Balbec.

The Rabbi of Sevastopol was previously officially submitted by the world Jewish Congress in new York as the «Rabbi Benjamin wolf. The politician noted that the Jewish community have a «huge impact on international politics», particularly in the US, 80% of religious communities is «Chabad».

«We can say that this is a very large-scale public opinion. And if Chabad believes that the Crimea and Sevastopol are Russia, the powers that be in the US will have to listen to it, even if they have already plugged their ears and covered eyes,» said Balbec.

«I’m glad that the world Jewish Congress in November of this year gathered the honest, objective people. No matter what their political views or sympathies for our country, the main thing is that the document issued by our Rabbi, clearly reflects the current reality: the Crimea and Sevastopol — Russia», — concluded the Deputy.

The world Jewish Congress, the status of the forum in the Jewish world, was held from 16 to 22 November in new York. The event was attended by over five thousand Jewish leaders from around the world.

Crimea became a Russian region after held there in March 2014 referendum in which 96.77% of voters of the Republic of Crimea and 95.6% of residents of Sevastopol voted for joining Russia. Crimean authorities held a referendum after a coup in Ukraine in February 2014. Kiev still considers Crimea its but temporarily occupied territory. The Russian leadership has repeatedly stated that the inhabitants of Crimea democratically in full compliance with international law and the UN Charter voted for reunification with Russia. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Crimea issue «is closed permanently.»
