Legislation to broaden the functions of the police prevention of crimes related to religious activities, it is planned in Kazakhstan, said Minister of religious Affairs and civil society of the Republic of Nurlan Yermekbayev.

«It is proposed to expand the functions of the police prevention of crimes related to religious activities. A few additional points are introduced in the law on internal Affairs bodies. With this in mind, police will be able to establish a legitimate and open surveillance of suspect individuals, including to warn them about inadmissibility of actions that create the conditions for administrative or more serious offenses,» said Yermekbayev in a briefing for diplomats to explain the amendments on religious activities.

He noted that «the police will be able to put these individuals on the forensic accounting and to pursue the necessary investigations».

«This means that at the stage of possible conditions for committing crimes the police would be able to warn people that their actions can lead to such actions. This is a preventive measure aimed at protecting a person from any crimes»,- said the Minister.

The draft law was earlier available on the official website of the Ministry of religious Affairs and civil society, as well as the portal of «Electronic government». The document envisages a ban on the wearing of garments of destructive ideological movements, distribution and advertising of their creed in the media, it should strengthen the responsibility for illegal involvement of minors in religious activities.

The document also proposes rules that will allow you to adjust the receiving religious education abroad, the participation of civil servants in religious activities, and impose a ban on wearing garments that prevent facial recognition in public places, and marriage in a religious ceremony.
