One woman was killed and 32 people were injured in a fire in a residential building in the Spanish city of Granada (Autonomous community Andalusia), said the emergency service.

The victim is 70-year-old woman. According to preliminary version, she suffocated from the smoke, her husband managed to escape. Among the victims — they were poisoned by carbon monoxide — three minors. Their condition is not dangerous to life.

The fire broke out early in the morning when residents were sleeping downstairs. Then the fire spread to a staircase that hampered the evacuation of residents, which firefighters were pulled out through Windows and balconies. Later the fire spread to six floors of a seven-storey building, completely burned three lower floors.

The reason of ignition becomes clear.
