Pope Francis has condemned the terrorist attack committed on Friday in Egypt, calling it inhumane act of violence against innocent civilians.

In a telegram sent on Friday evening, the state Secretary of Vatican, cardinal Pietro parolin, stated that the Pontiff is deeply saddened by the deaths of so many people gathered in prayer in the mosque of er-Road in North Sinai.

«His Holiness joins all people of good will, praying that the fierce hatred of the heart learned to abandon violence, which leads to such great suffering, and embarked on the path of peace», — stated in the message.

Earlier it became known that militants broke into the mosque of er-Road, in the village of bir-El-Abd, located West of the city of El-Arish, during Friday prayers. One detonated the bomb, the other shot people in a panic vibhagasah from the mosque. When on the scene arrived the ambulance, the terrorists opened fire on them.
