The TV channel «Star» will show a documentary about the unique expedition to the island of Matua, who for many years was closed to civilians, said the author of the project Maria Osipova.

«Mysterious island was the largest naval base of the Japanese army and since the end of the Second World War was closed to civilians. Attempts to explore the island made repeatedly, but to explore all the tunnels failed,» — said Osipov.

The documentary was about two months. In the film you will see not only the nature of the island, 96 percent of which is volcanic rock, but military fortifications: bunkers, pillboxes, revetments, equipped with artillery positions, and the mysterious hill, around which were the subject of many legends.

The fact that the hill has a regular shape, which is uncharacteristic of natural formations. Many researchers believed that it was «the handiwork» of the Japanese. After surrender the entrance had been blown up, and get directly behind the rubble could not be anyone.

The uniqueness of the project lies in the fact that during shooting were used VR technology, which allow to accurately convey the «mood» of the nature and details of the footage.

Premiere of the documentary «the Island of Matua» will be held on November 26 at 12:00 on TV channel «Star».
