The participants of the national Congress in defense of human rights voted in favor of the recommendations of the resolutions which they propose to develop and adopt the law on lobbying activities is operating at the moment the laws on foreign agents, including foreign media.

On Saturday the President of Russia Vladimir Putin signed the law on the status of a foreign agent to the media. According to the text of the law, registered as a foreign agent can be recognized by the media receiving financial support from foreign States or organizations. The decision about which media will be categorized as foreign agents, will be taken by the Ministry of justice.

«…To repeal the laws «on foreign agents» and «foreign media» and «undesirable organizations», instead of them to develop and adopt the law on lobbying activities», — follows from the text of the resolution.

Human rights activists also oppose pre-trial blocking of sites and criminal prosecution for expressing their opinions online.

Congress in defense of human rights, at the initiative of leading human rights organizations, takes place on Sunday in Moscow in hotel «Space», the participants discussed the main threats and negative trends in the sphere of human rights. Following the discussion, recommendations will the government and society about the observance of the constitutional norms in this area.
