The new contractor began work on the reconstruction of the airport in the village of Ossora on the North of Kamchatka, reports the regional Ministry of transport.

To reconstruct the runway and build a new terminal building, the General contractor for the FSUE the main Directorate of roads and airfields in the «Spetsstroy of Russia» had until the end of 2016, but the schedule was disrupted.

He added that next year, work will be performed on the slabs on the runway. Under the terms of the contract, the deadline for completion of December 2018.

Airport Ossory is one of the key airports in the East coast of Kamchatka, provides regular flights from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatka, Palana village, the villages of Tilichiki and Tigil. The reconstruction work was launched in 2015. The General contractor is the «Spetsstroy of Russia» — has not fulfilled its obligations, the decision of the Federal air transport Agency contract with him was terminated.

Earlier problems on the reconstruction of objects in Kamchatka with the structural subdivisions of the Spetsstroy were already at the airport Yelizovo. The contractor for more than 1.5 years delayed the timing of the commissioning of the new runway at the main airport of Kamchatka.
