As stated by the Ministry, on the same day, NATO air force identified the Il-76 and two accompanying su-27, which flew from mainland Russia to the Kaliningrad region. According to the defense Ministry, Il-76 flew with the supplied flight plan included a calling station, supporting communication with the control center, su-27 flew in «silent mode».

The crew was flying according to the flight plan, communication with the regional mission control center support, radar responders was disabled», — stated in the message. According to MO, the same day the fighters were accompanied by Il-76 and two su-27, which was flying from Kaliningrad region to mainland Russia. «Il-76 flew with the supplied flight plan included answering phones, keeping in touch with mission control center. Two su-27 was flying in the so-called «regime of silence» — said the press service.

The mission of the air police of NATO in the Baltic States since September 1, perform fighters of the U.S. air force F-15 Eagle air base, located in the Lithuanian city Siauliai. Russian defense Ministry has repeatedly stated that all flights of videoconferencing was carried out in strict accordance with international rules of using airspace over neutral waters without violating the borders of other States.
