Interest in the Russian culture and traditions in the world is growing in spite of «anti-Russian wave», which was raised in recent years, Western partners, told RIA Novosti the official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.

«I am consulting on information services of the foreign ministries in many countries. Just been in Argentina, now came back from China, had previously been in Madrid», — said Zakharov.

«It may seem strange, but the anti-Russian wave, which was organized by our Western partners in recent years, in many ways has backfired on them. That is, the interest and demand for everything connected with Russia, modern Russia, with our traditional heritage culture, music, art interest and need in this world is huge», — said the representative of the foreign Ministry.

Speaking about his trip to China, which took place last week, she mentioned about the performance of the Russian national ballet «Kostroma» in the largest theatre complex in the Chinese capital, the Beijing center for the performing arts «, TANECO».

As said Zakharov, a performance of the ballet «Kostroma» are a combination of traditional national dances of the peoples of Russia and elements of modern choreography. «Additionally, they have a statement which says the dance is about the history of Russia from ancient times to the present», she said.

According to her, performance in Beijing, dedicated to the presentation of Kostroma region, was very successful. «There were representatives of the Chinese leadership, the various Chinese agencies, including Chinese Ministry of foreign Affairs. As we understand, this is only the beginning. Following the tour of the ballet may be in India,» — said the official representative of the foreign Ministry.

Zakharov explained that about a year ago the idea arose to create a special program of performances for Russian national ballet «Kostroma» under the auspices of humanitarian cooperation of the BRICS countries.
