Acting Secretary of the General Council «United Russia» Andrey Turchak said that he considers it important that the volunteering has become the norm in Russian society, the press service of the party.

Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree establishing the holding on 5 December volunteer Day (volunteer).

«It is important that the volunteering that is based on unselfish, non-repayable aid to people has become the norm in our society. Thanks to the volunteers were given the necessary support to those who really need it. Also without them it is impossible to hold any large events,» said Turchak.

He noted that the establishment of volunteer Day, the evidence of the state attention to volunteering. According to Turchak, the duty of the «United Russia» – to support volunteers. He drew attention that volunteers are involved in many political projects.

Secretary of the General Council of the EP also noted that volunteers are not always young people. There is, for example, the project «Senior citizens», developing «silver volunteer», where elderly people provide assistance to those who need it, and because of this, lead an active lifestyle.

Turchak also said that «United Russia» will make efforts to adjust existing legislation in the field of volunteering, since it is necessary to create conditions for the development and support of volunteers, to give people an incentive to join in this movement.
