The new President of Zimbabwe Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa announced three-month Amnesty for those wishing to return to the state of misappropriated funds, according to local television channel ZBC.

In his statement, Mnangagwa said that the Amnesty period will run from 1 December 2017 to February 2018.

«As a first step for the return of misappropriated funds, the government announces a three month Amnesty during which everyone will be able to return such funds without any issues or charges against him,» said the President.

Last week, the 93-year-old Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe, resigned under pressure from the military and the leadership of the ruling party «Zimbabwe African national Union — Patriotic front» (ZANU-PF).

Former Vice President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa, the proposed ZANU-PF for the post of head of state will hold office until the next election in August 2018.
