Living in the Perm zoo white bear Mila ate her newborn bear, experts believe that it happened not because of hunger, but because of the inexperience of the animal.

As the press service of the zoo, the young bear Mila gave birth to her firstborn on the night of November 14. The video cameras installed in the maternity den, recorded that the birth lasted four hours, and then the bear ate the bear.

«The cub was born in the corner, who misses the camera lens, so the baby on the record was not there. It is not clear what prompted Mila to almost immediately kill and eat cubs. Maybe she reacted to the motion or cry of a baby as live prey. Perhaps due to the fact that the baby is defective — in the morning found the remains of the animal found that it had little weight and was born a month early,» — said the representative of the zoo.

In addition, experts attribute this to the inexperience of the young mother and hope that Mila will succeed next year. «The zoo staff after an unsuccessful childbirth Mila joined with other experienced females: Sarikoy and Amderma. Now the three of them walk around the cage, not hungry, young bear happy to eat meat and fish, and the old Sarika prefers vegetarian food: chewing on carrots, eats the berries and kelp. She almost gave up meat and fish», — is spoken in the message.
