Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich and foreign Minister of Germany, Sigmar Gabriel, discussed the «Nord stream-2» and agreed that the project should be implemented, said Dvorkovich.

«(«Nord stream-2″ — ed.) were discussed at the meeting of the General, of course, we (with our German colleagues — ed) the same position, we believe that it is necessary to implement this project,» — said Dvorkovich after a private meeting with the Vice-Chancellor, foreign Minister of Germany Sigmar Gabriel in the framework of Russian-German feedstock forum.

«(The third energy package — ed.) we believe that it should not be applied,» — said Dvorkovich, adding that the German community thinks the same.

The project «Northern stream-2» involves the construction of two pipelines with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas off the coast of Russia through the Baltic sea to Germany. The new pipeline is planned to be build next to the «Nord stream».

The company 2 the Nord Stream AG is the operator of the project «Northern stream-2», whose total cost 9.5 billion euros, the sole shareholder of Nord Stream AG 2 is «Gazprom». European partners — Shell, OMV, Engie, Uniper and Wintershall — have committed to financing the «Nord stream-2» in total 50%, ie 950 million euros each. «Gazprom» will provide the other half of the funds to 4.75 billion euros.
