In Moscow for the first time hold free guided tours in foreign languages

Five Hiking tours in the capital for English speaking tourists and one walk for guests from China can be arranged in the days of the city festival «Journey to Christmas», according to the official website of the mayor and government of Moscow.

«To join the free walking tours of the capital will be able to attend during the festival «Journey to Christmas», which will be held from 22 December to 14 January. A novelty of this season will be a guided walking trips for foreigners. Guides will tell the tourists about Moscow in two languages — English and Chinese», — stated in the message.

Tours will be offered tours of the city project «Walking in Moscow». Trips for English speaking tourists will be held on 23, 24, December 30 and January 6 and 7. Tour for the guests from China will be held on December 30, noted in a release.

«Foreign visitors have to know why the big clock was installed on the East tower of the Kremlin, than traded in the red square in the early nineteenth century, how did the Aleksandrovsky garden, where the river Neglinnaya and more. The walk was called «Christmas center.» The route will pass through the red, Theatrical and resurrection areas», — said the press service of the organizing Committee of the festival «Journey to Christmas».

The guests of the winter festival «Journey to Christmas» has prepared more than 40 free guided walking tours of the city. To participate, you must register on the website. Most of them will be devoted to the theatres. So, on the tour, «Theater district: from Big art to» guides will tell you when was the first Russian theatrical performance, who founded the enterprise and where is the first art theatre in Moscow.

During the walking tour, «a Theatrical canvas of Moscow» will talk about the history of theatrical art in the capital. Guests will find out at what stage debuted Russian Opera singer Feodor Chaliapin, where she danced the famous American dancer Isadora Duncan, and what happened one night with actress Alexandra Yablochkina.

The festival programme and timetable of the fairs chosen taking into account the opinions of Muscovites who voted in the project «Active citizen».
