. The Council of bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church does not take a final decision on the remains of the Royal family, said the press Secretary of Patriarch Kirill, the priest of Alexander Volkov.

According to him, the first need to wait for completion of all studies and examinations.

«Therefore, the discussion in this Council of bishops of the theme of the «Yekaterinburg remains» is intermediate in nature, — said Volkov.

As expected, on Thursday, the Cathedral will hear the report of the Secretary of the ecclesiastical Commission for the study of the remains of Bishop Tikhon (Shevkunova). After discussion, Bishop Tikhon will hold a briefing for journalists.

The last Russian Emperor Nicholas II and his family were shot in 1918 in Ekaterinburg. In 1991, in Porosenkov log discovered burial, presumably with the remains of the Royal couple and three of their daughters. In 2007, close to this location found another burial, probably of crown Prince Alexei and Grand Duchess Maria.

After that, the remains of the Imperial family buried in the tomb of the Peter and Paul Cathedral in St. Petersburg. The Church has not acknowledged their authenticity for lack of evidence.

In the fall of 2015 the investigation of the death of the Romanovs resumed.

The Russian Church canonized Nicholas II and his family canonized.
