The Ministry of energy of Russia and Saudi Arabia held a bilateral meeting in Vienna, said in a Twitter Minenergo of the Russian Federation.

«Minister Alexander Novak met with the Minister of energy, industry and mineral resources Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Khaled al-Valicom», — stated in the message.

Novak arrived in Vienna on Wednesday to take part in the discussion of performance and future transactions OPEC+. Arriving at the site of the meeting, he refused to answer questions from journalists, the correspondent of RIA Novosti from the event.

OPEC and several non-organisation countries (OPEC+) agreed in late 2016 in Vienna on the reduction of its oil production to total 1.8 million barrels per day from October levels, of which 300 thousand are in Russia. The agreement was concluded for the first half of 2017, and in may extended for another nine months — until the end of March 2018.

In Vienna on Thursday held a Ministerial meeting of all 24 States of the agreement, which will discuss the further fate of the transaction. In anticipation of this meeting on Wednesday will be a meeting of the Ministerial Committee for monitoring the execution of the transaction OPEC+, and adjustments in the terms and conditions, which includes representatives of only six countries in the agreement: Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, Kuwait, Algeria, Oman and Russia.
