The Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia Kirill, speaking Wednesday at a meeting of the Council of bishops, told the audience how to have a page in social networks.

According to the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, even in 2015, all dioceses are recommended to access the popular social networks official pages, and that was done. However, in most cases, these pages duplicate the diocesan sites, so there is no real dialogue between the administrators of the pages and readers.

«Such a presence on social networks has almost no effect. Social media users are addicted to reading those pages which you see a living person who speaks to them in everyday language and answers questions that may arise. It is sympathetic and makes to establish personal contact, to join the community of readers of such a person» — are the words of Patriarch Kirill on the website of the ROC.

Some bishops, clergy and laity — representatives of the dioceses are such pages that become a place of conversation about God. «There is also the risk to get involved their own way in social networks, to become a priest-blogger, eager to Express their opinion with or without cause, and not a priest, for whom the blog is just one of the means of communication with people,» warned the Patriarch.

However, he urged the bishops not to give up and to continue to explore the space of social networks.
