The relics of Patriarch Tikhon, who was elected to the throne at the local Council of 1917, will be in the Cathedral Church of the Russian Orthodox Church before the closing of the Synod of bishops, told RIA Novosti in the press service of the Patriarch of Moscow and all Russia.

Every day at the relics of the Patriarch, the first after the restoration in Russia of the Patriarchate, will serve the divine Liturgy.

The Council of bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church began Wednesday in Cathedral of Christ the Saviour with a solemn Liturgy, which was headed by Patriarch Kirill. It was attended by all invited to the Cathedral bishops. The Cathedral will be devoted to discussions including the interpretation of the events of a century ago, when Russia more than two centuries after the break, the Patriarchate was restored.

«The Cathedral of 2017 will be based on two principles – the first is the understanding of the events of a century ago. This was the first reason to convene the Council. Here all of us, bishops of the Russian Church, to pray and meditate about the causes and effects entire time.. And here it is important to understand that we remember not only the events of a century ago, but this century-long period in which there were so many events and achievements that require our deep understanding», — told RIA Novosti the head of the Patriarchal press service Alexander Volkov priest.

The Cathedral will be completed on Saturday 2 December. According to its results will be announced traditionally Epistle.
