Voronezh oblast intends to provide full support to the Russian-Turkish projects to be implemented in the region, the regional government reported.

Russian-Turkish business forum started in Voronezh on 29 November. The event is organized by the chamber of Commerce of the Russian Federation, office of the trade representation of Russia in Istanbul, Turkish-Russian business Council, foreign economic relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), with the support of the government of the Voronezh region. On Wednesday the Governor of the region Alexey Gordeev met with the Turkish delegation led by Turkish Ambassador to the Russian Federation Hussaina the Dirioz.

«Today our turnover is a modest amount, and it does not respond to any queries of the Voronezh region or regions of the Turkish Republic. There is a range of areas where we can expand cooperation in industry, agriculture, medicine, education. The government of the Voronezh region is open for cooperation and ready to provide comprehensive support for joint projects», — said the Governor.

Gordeev reminded that the Voronezh region already has experience of cooperation with Turkey. «Turkish builders have built a number of interesting objects in Voronezh, for example, the Central market, the theatre. Also now opened a direct flight Voronezh – Istanbul. All this enables the development of just horizontal connections», – said Gordeev.

According to the regional authorities, the purpose of the forum was the establishment and development of economic relations between Turkish and Russian companies in various sectors of the economy, as well as implementation of joint investment projects. A part of the Turkish business delegation consisted of about 20 representatives of the construction industry, agriculture, light industry, machine building and Metalworking, chemical industry, credit-financial sphere, retail trade and tourism.

According to the organizers of the forum, the agenda includes thematic round tables on topical issues of bilateral economic and trade cooperation, the exchange of business contacts.
