Foreign trade turnover of Penza region grew by 43% in nine months

Foreign trade turnover of the Penza region in January-September this year amounted to 326,3 million dollars, which is by 43.2% over the same period last year, said Thursday the press service of the regional government.

«The volume of exports for the first nine months of 2017 increased by 38.6% and amounted to 155,9 million dollars. Imports for the period was $ 170,4 million dollars, which is 47.7% higher than in the first nine months of 2016», — stated in the message.

The share of CIS countries and Baltic States in the total exports of the region was 40.5%, the remaining share falls on the member States of the CIS. The main exported goods are food products and raw materials, as well as machinery and mechanical devices. The largest partners of the region in export are: Kazakhstan and Belarus.

The share of CIS countries in total imports of the region made up of 87.4%, and the States-participants of the CIS — 12,6%. Most of the total volume in the region are imported products from China, Czech Republic, Germany and Belarus. In the Penza region are imported from abroad of machinery, equipment and vehicles timber and pulp and paper products, and chemical products.

«The trend is to increase the volume of foreign trade turnover, primarily associated with the gradual exit of the Penza enterprises in the global market. This year, Penza oblast trades with more than 70 countries of near and far abroad», — quoted in the message words of the Minister of economy of the region Sergey Kapralov.

«Export growth is associated with the active position of the Penza producers to find new markets and new mechanisms to support exporters,» the Minister added, noting that from the regional budget on support of export-oriented enterprises in the current year allocated 14 million rubles.
