South Korea plans in 2020 to increase trade with Russia to $ 30 billion, said in an interview with Russian media the new Ambassador of the Republic of Korea in Russia young Geun.

«The 30th anniversary since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and Russia in 2020 we aim to increase trade turnover between our countries to $ 30 billion, and the number of mutual visits of the citizens of our countries — up to 1 million people per year», — said the diplomat.

According to him, currently the number of citizens of both countries attending the two countries during the year amounts to 500 thousand people.

As stated earlier, the Russian presidential envoy to FEFD Yuri Trutnev, the volume of trade between South Korea and Russia for the first six months of 2017 increased by almost 50% to $ 9.8 billion.

According to the Federal customs service of Russia, trade turnover between Russia and South Korea amounted at the end of 2016 15,140 billion dollars, including Russian export — 10,027 billion dollars, and import — 5,113 billion dollars. Share in Russian trade turnover in 2016, the Republic of Korea took the 9th place.
