Vladimir Putin instructed the government to limit the growth of electricity tariffs to the rate of inflation, according to the Kremlin website.

The President also pointed to the need to attract investment in the modernization of thermal power plants. He instructed the Cabinet to develop appropriate mechanisms with the authorities of regions and entrepreneurs.

Putin gave this order following the meeting on the development of the power sector, held on 14 November. The report on its implementation should be submitted before March 1, 2018.

The Ministry considers that by the end of this year will be a record low inflation of 2.5-2.6 percent. The forecast for 2018 — four percent.

Moscow authorities have approved the electricity tariffs in 2018. Prices will grow only on certain rates and not all residents of the capital. Adjusted rates will be from 1 July of the following year.

The cost of kWh for tenants of houses without stoves when the straight-line rate will be 5.38 ruble. At the rate with two time-of-day price in the daytime will be 6.19 ruble, at night — 1.92 ruble. At the rate of three — 6,46 (morning and early evening), 5,38 (day and late evening), 1.92 ruble (night).
