The UN continues to examine information on the ballistic missiles that were launched at Saudi Arabia Yemeni Houthis rebels this year. This is stated in the report of the Secretary-General of the world organization antónio Guterres on the implementation of resolution of UN Security Council 2231 to maintain the «six» and Iran agreement.

US Ambassador to the UN, Nikki Haley on Thursday announced in Washington, fragments of the missile in Iran, stating that the projectile was launched by Houthis from Yemen at the airport of Riyadh. In her speech, Haley also cited the new report of the UN Secretary General. According to her, the report indicates that «Iran illegally supplying deadly weapons to the Houthis in Yemen», which is a violation of UN security Council resolutions (2231 2216 and — prohibiting the supply of weapons to the Houthis).

However, according to the report, the Secretariat has not yet come to final conclusions on this issue. The document notes that after the appearance of information on the possible referral of Iran’s ballistic missiles, their components or related technologies, the Houthis in Yemen, which could be used in missile launches on the territory of Saudi Arabia on 22 July and 4 November 2017, the Secretariat has studied the fragments of a ballistic missile.

«The government of Saudi Arabia in October and November 2017, invited the Secretariat to explore fragments of ballistic missiles launched at its territory», — the document says. «The Secretariat is still analyzing the collected information and report to the Security Council in due time», — stated in the text.
