The criminal case of the inhabitant of Sverdlovsk region about the attempt of export from Russia to UAE birds listed in the Red book, referred to the court, is the official representative of the Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia Irina Wolf on Sunday.

«The investigative Department of the LU Russian interior Ministry in Domodedovo airport completed the preliminary investigation and directed to court criminal case concerning the inhabitant of the Sverdlovsk region, tried to take out abroad three dozen species of endangered falcons… the Attacker was charged under part 1 of article 258.1 of the criminal code and part 1 of article 226.1 of the criminal code of Russian Federation», — said the Wolf.

The investigation established that the citizen, having learnt about high market value in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) birds, referring to the Falcon, decided to earn some money. The man knew that the falcons, Gyrfalcons are included in the list of especially valuable wild animals belonging to species listed in the Red book of Russia, went to the trick, noted in a release.

«The man received permission from the Federal service for supervision in the sphere of nature management of the Russian Federation on the export of birds — Saker falcons in the United Arab Emirates. Part of the birds he switched on Gyrfalcons and their hybrids, relying on the possible incompetence of the employees of the customs post Domodedovo international airport,» explained Wolf.
