About 2 thousand people take part in the Sunday rally of supporters of ex-President of Georgia Mikhail Saakashvili in the center of Kiev, follow the order of about 1 thousands of law enforcement officers, the press service of the police of Kiev.

Saakashvili’s supporters currently hold the chamber, which require to adopt a law on impeachment that will regulate the procedure for the resignation of the President of Ukraine.

The rally on the Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence square) was preceded by a March of supporters of Saakashvili were organized by centre of Kiev. Such events organizers have recently been carrying out every Sunday.

«According to preliminary data, the event joined about 2 thousand persons. Militiamen provide the law and order during a protest in Central Kiev. Law enforcement officers carry out the support of the participants for the purpose of preventing violations and provocations», — stated in the message on the website of the Metropolitan police.

To ensure the safety of the people involved about 1 thousand police officers and servicemen of National guard of Ukraine, the report says.

An attempt to detain Saakashvili in a criminal case on the assistance of members of the criminal organizations and concealment of their criminal activities was made in Kiev on December 5. However, supporters rescued their leader from law enforcement officers, then went to the rally in the center of Kiev.

The next day police came to tent city to Saakashvili, where his colleagues again offered resistance. To detain Saakashvili managed only 8th of December late in the evening, after which he was brought to the detention centre of the security Service of Ukraine.

On Monday the Pechersky district court of Kyiv rejected the petition of Prosecutor’s office of election for Saakashvili preventive measure in the form of a round-the-clock house arrest, he remains at large. The Prosecutor’s office filed a complaint against the refusal of the court to take Saakashvili under house arrest. The ex-President of Georgia at a sane article is threatened by imprisonment for a term of five to ten years.
