Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Vladimir Titov on Monday discussed with the new Ambassador of Austria in Russia Johannes Aigner the development of relations between Moscow and Vienna, said the foreign Ministry.

Aigner holds the post of Austrian Ambassador in Moscow from December 11, 2017. On Friday he handed over copies of his credentials.

«During the meeting held a thorough «reconciliation of hours» on a whole range of bilateral relations and discussed a schedule of political contacts for the near future. Commended for actively developing historical, memorial and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between the two countries, including in the context of the final Year of tourism Russia-Austria 2017 and the upcoming Year of music and cultural routes 2018″, — stated in the message on the website of the Russian foreign Ministry.

The Ministry said that the meeting also exchanged opinions on some topical international problems, including in the light of future of the Austrian presidency of the European Union in the second half of 2018.
