American scientists from Rutgers University found underground in the North-Eastern United States, huge masses of molten rock that rise to the surface. It is reported by Science Alert.

The study used a network of thousands of geological sensors. After analyzing their readings, scientists have recorded at a depth of 200 km thermal anomaly bubble with a diameter of 400 kilometres, the temperature of which is hundreds of degrees higher than the rock around. The anomaly affects the States of Vermont, new Hampshire and Massachusetts.

The region has no active volcanoes, so geophysicists believe that they faced a relatively recent phenomenon. The researchers believe that the eruption would be natural for such education, but before it can take millions of years.

Previously, scientists at NASA have said they believe the SUPERVOLCANO more serious threat than asteroids or the third world war. Just on the planet there are about 20 known supervolcanoes, the eruption of at least one of them can lead to disastrous consequences, the researchers said. A particular danger they see in Yellowstone volcano, located in the United States in the territory of Wyoming.
