Iran through the Swiss Ambassador in Tehran expressed its protest in connection with the statements of the U.S. permanent representative to the UN Nikki Haley on the supply of Iranian weapons to the Houthis in Yemen, a spokesman for the foreign Ministry of Iran Bahram qasemi.

The Swiss Embassy represents US interests in Iran because of the lack of diplomatic relations between Tehran and Washington.

«In protest against the irresponsible statements of the US Ambassador to the UN, the Swiss Ambassador in Tehran was summoned to the Ministry of foreign Affairs, where he was pronounced an official protest of Iran on the unweighted, unfounded accusations Nikki Haley», — stated in the message of the foreign Ministry of Iran.

Haley last week was presented in Washington, fragments of the missile in Iran, stating that the projectile was launched by Houthis from Yemen at the airport of Riyadh. In her speech she also referred to a new report by the UN Secretary General. According to her, the report indicates that «Iran illegally supplying deadly weapons to the Houthis in Yemen», which is a violation of UN security Council resolutions (2231 2216 and — prohibiting the supply of weapons to the Houthis).

Iran rejected the «provocative and destructive» US charges the supply of missiles to Yemen, who was released to Saudi Arabia in early November. The permanent mission of Iran to the United Nations called exhibited specimens «fabricated».

The air defense forces of Saudi Arabia at the beginning and at the end of November, intercepted two ballistic missiles launched from Yemen Houthi rebels. The first rocket was shot down on 4 November in the vicinity of the international airport in Riyadh. The second was intercepted on 30 November in the South of the country near the city of Khamis-Mushayt (D. Asher).
