Russia concerned about the situation around Jerusalem is and will do everything possible to bring her back in a constructive direction, said Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

«At this stage we are very concerned about the situation around Jerusalem,» — said he during the meeting with the Advisor to the Palestinian President on foreign policy issues and international relations Nabil Season.

According to Lavrov, «we will continue to do everything necessary to return the situation in a constructive way, which will facilitate negotiations and will make no recourse to unilateral steps before the decisive and final settlement».

In early December, the President of the United States Donald trump announced the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and signed a document about transferring the U.S. Embassy from tel Aviv to this city. The decision of the us leader was well received in Israel and aroused a negative reaction from many countries, primarily countries in the Middle East and Palestine.
