Russia needs to preserve its statehood and freedom, stability and harmony in society, said the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

«Here, in this room, a lot of young people. But we all, young and old, as they say, needs to remember that Russia, our people, in fact all of our family went through a very complex and difficult period of its history — through revolution, war, drastic changes of the whole lifestyle,» said Putin at a forum of the Russian popular front.

«Today, we have an obligation to protect its statehood and freedom, stability and harmony in society. Cherish everything, even something modest, what we have made to our achievements and a real change for the better was irreversible, that our force was used to the benefit and development of the Fatherland», — he added.

Putin called it and his job as President and the candidate for the post in the elections in 2018. «I see this as our common task, and, of course, his personal duty and civic responsibility as acting head of state and presidential candidate of the Russian Federation», — he said.
