The Republic of Mordovia in 2017 will receive from the Federal budget appropriation of $ 283 million 274,7 thousand rubles for compensation to agricultural producers for the damage caused by emergency situations of natural character in 2017, according to a statement on the official portal of public authorities of the Republic with reference to the order of the head of the Russian government.

The decree prepared by the Ministry of agriculture of Russia on the basis of applications of heads of higher Executive bodies of state power of subjects of the Federation.

Intergovernmental transfers are provided in addition to Mordovia republics of Bashkortostan, Buryatia, Ingushetia, Crimea, Sakha (Yakutia), Tyva, Chuvash Republic, Transbaikalian and seaside edges, the Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Kaliningrad, Kirov, Kursk, Novgorod, Tyumen and Chelyabinsk areas.

In July of this year, Russian media reported citing materials of the National Union of agricultural insurers that the amount of damages that may be incurred by farmers in 2017 because of the cold summer, can reach 2.6 billion rubles.

As previously reported by the head of Mordovia Vladimir Volkov, despite the adverse weather conditions in the spring and summer of 2017, the farmers of the Republic were able to obtain the best in the history of the Republic’s grain harvest, more than 1.4 million tons.

«This year is expected to 1 million 450 thousand tons the gross grain harvest. This is the best result in the history of the Republic. Moreover, to achieve such performance was not in the most favorable weather conditions», — said Volkov.
