The Soviet leadership seriously feared attack from the UK and USA on the eve of the German attack on the Soviet Union, said the Director of FSB Alexander Bortnikov.

«Unfortunately, the data produced on the specific day of the attack on the Soviet Union was contradictory. A number of sources not credible Stalin, as in previous years received information from them or not always confirmed or very late. It should be remembered that the Soviet leadership seriously feared attack from the UK and USA», — said Bortnikov in an interview to «Rossiyskaya Gazeta».
