The UN General Assembly, in adopting a Ukrainian resolution on the situation of human rights in the Crimea, was turned into a platform for anti-Russian information attacks, said the Deputy of the state Duma from the Crimean region Ruslan Balbec.

The UN General Assembly adopted on Tuesday, the Ukrainian resolution on the situation of human rights in Crimea. The resolution was voted 70, against — 26, 76 countries abstained. Among those who supported the initiative, most European countries and the USA. In particular, the General Assembly condemned «the current temporary occupation by the Russian Federation of the territory of Ukraine,» reiterating «the non-recognition of its annexation». In the document Russia «urge» to carry out 12 recommendations to «put an immediate end to all violations and abuses of human rights against the inhabitants of Crimea».

«The draft resolution just adopted, unfortunately, demonstrates that the UN has become a platform for information attacks on Russia. The UN hesitated a long time between funding and objectivity, and chose the former,» said Balbec RIA Novosti.

According to him, today the UN is actually a platform for the promotion of the interests of Western countries headed by the USA.

«Unfortunately, the majority of countries the UN has shown the world that they are under the thumb of Washington. Some high-ranking officials of the United Nations, perhaps even under the «hood», — said the Deputy.
