The U.S. is considering various measures that will offer the UN Security Council in response to the supply of Iranian weapons to the Houthis in Yemen, Washington is no doubt of Iran’s involvement to supplying the rebels, who fire rockets into Saudi Arabia, said the U.S. permanent representative to the UN, Nikki Haley at a meeting of the UN Security Council.

The UN security Council on Tuesday considers the latest report of the UN Secretary General on the implementation of resolution 2231, which supported the achievements of the «six» and Iran the agreement.

«On the basis of the violations (marked) in the report of the Secretary-General there are several options that we can use to exert pressure on Iran, to put in order their behavior. The Security Council could strengthen the provisions of resolution 2231. We could adopt a new resolution that explicitly forbid Iran to engage in any activity related to ballistic missiles. We can explore possible sanctions against Iran in response to its apparent violation of the arms embargo against Yemen. We could prosecute the Islamic revolutionary guard Corps for violation of many Security Council resolutions,» said Haley.

She stressed that «in the coming days,» the U.S. delegation will continue to explore these and other options, «with our colleagues.»

Last week Hayley was presented in Washington, fragments of the missile in Iran, stating that the projectile was launched by Houthis from Yemen at the airport of Riyadh. In her speech, Haley also cited the new report of the UN Secretary General. According to her, the document specifies that «Iran illegally supplying deadly weapons to the Houthis in Yemen», which is a violation of UN security Council resolutions (2231 2216 and — prohibiting the supply of weapons to the Hasidim).

However, according to last week’s fourth report, the UN continues to examine information on the ballistic missiles that were launched on the territory of Saudi Arabia, Yemeni Houthis this year. The document notes that after the appearance of information on the possible referral of Iran’s ballistic missiles, their components or related technologies, the Houthis in Yemen, which could be used in missile launches on the territory of Saudi Arabia on 22 July and 4 November 2017, the Secretariat has studied the fragments of a ballistic missile.
