Investigators detained the organizer of the theft of 1.6 billion rubles, «Taurus Bank», according to official representative SK the Russian Federation Svetlana Petrenko.

«RF IC detained Agustin Morales-Escamilla, accused of organization of embezzlement of funds of JSC «Taurus Bank». The investigative Committee of the crime he is accused of «misappropriation and attempted fraud,» — said Petrenko.

She noted that a number of his accomplices, which, depending on the role of each on similar charges.

According to investigators, no later than June 2014, Morales-Escamilla attracted friends Igor rich, Noremove Natalia and Andrey Podgornov to the creation of a criminal group. They were subsequently joined by Dmitry Merkulov, Vadim Soloviev, Tatiana Rusina and Tatiana Shevchenko, who worked at the Bank. Members of an organized group in 2014, having learned that the owners of the Bank intend to sell shares, decided to take advantage of the situation and «bought» the former owner of the Bank controlling stock, issuing buying and selling on controlled to find a rich person who did not know about criminal intentions.

«Morales-Escamilla with the assistance of partners was organized by the appointment of the members of the criminal group in managerial and other positions in the Bank, which are calculated by processing fictitious loan agreements with individuals and legal entities provided the embezzlement of funds of the Bank… totaling over 1.6 billion rubles,» — said Petrenko.

The Central Bank withdrew the license from «Taurus Bank», which was part of the five hundred banks in the country by assets, in April 2015. After the accomplices had intended to kidnap under the guise of insurance reimbursement in the amount of 505 million rubles.

The investigation seeks before the court to conclude Morales-Escamilla into custody.
