Border Department of the FSB of Russia in the Crimea and manufacturing and Assembly center «Start-7» (Penza oblast) signed a contract for the creation of a nearly 50-kilometer-long boom in Krasnoperekopskiy district Peninsula, the materials on the public procurement portal.

The narrow Perekop isthmus (the width in a straight line no more than ten kilometres) connects the Crimean Peninsula with Ukraine.

According to the documents until may 30, 2018 to build a full height fence height of 2.1 metres with a length of 49.5 km. The upper part of the fence will be equipped with barbed wire.

Paid work will be funded from the Federal budget.

«Engineering boom is designed for use in the complexes of technical means of protection of various objects, both as physical barriers and as structural element of the means of detecting vibration and radio wave principle», — stated in the documents.

In the corresponding tender with a maximum price of the contract, amounting to nearly 213 million rubles, was attended by two companies: «Stroyspecproject» of Krasnodar and «Росстрой64» from Saratov. Selected the winner of the production and Assembly center «Start-7» offered the lowest price of 178.9 million rubles.
