New the longest glass bridge in the world built in the Chinese province of Hebei, it will be open for visits this Sunday, the newspaper China Daily.

The length of the bridge, which is located in a picturesque area Junyaku Pingshan County of Shijiazhuang city, is 488 meters and a width of 2 meters.

The design consists of 1 077 panels of transparent glass with a thickness of four centimeters. The bridge stretched at a height of 218 meters between two steep cliffs. The total weight of the bridge is about 70 tons.

The bridge is constructed in such a way that it sways a bit when visitors walk to the center. Despite the fact that the structure is able to withstand up to 2 thousand people, at the same time it will be allowed no more than 500 people.

The construction of the bridge took 1.5 years.

In recent years, China had built a number of glass bridges. In particular, in early September, 2016 in the National Park of Zhangjiajie in the Hunan province over the Grand Canyon opened glass bridge, which is called the longest and highest in the world in its kind. The length of the bridge is 430 meters long and 6 meters.
