Monument to Patriarch Kirill, which will be installed in Moscow among the sculptures of other primates of the Russian Orthodox Church, is to highlight his personality and is within a shared historical context, told RIA Novosti the Patriarch’s press Secretary, priest Alexander Volkov.

Earlier it became known that before the end of 2019 at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior will be a sculpture all 16 of the primates of the Russian Church, including the current Patriarch. The Creator of the monument — sculptor Salavat Shcherbakov.

«No question of any personification of the now well Patriarch is not, and it’s about the fact that his way is the General context in the overall sound of all of the primates of the Russian Church since its first Primate. So no problems there. On the contrary, it is right that the creators of this song I chose this semantic decision, not Mateevici the image of the Primate of the Russian Church, while emphasizing its historical continuity,» said Volkov.

He noted that all the images «are in the same semantic context», so in this case there is no difference, whose sculpture represented a living or deceased person.

«If we say, for example, the monument to all outstanding astronauts, why not to set monuments to all of them: from Gagarin and ending still alive Tereshkova. Such things emphasize the semantic connection of times and note the important historical continuity, which is positive, in my opinion, from the point of view of the whole perception of the image of a Ministry», — said the press Secretary of the Patriarch.
