Airline Azimut intends to begin flights in the EEU countries

Recently created in the South of Russia «airline azimuth» plans to begin flights to the countries of the Eurasian economic Union (EEU) in 2018, told reporters the Director of strategic development of the company Dmitry Zvonarev.

In late September the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Azimut, Pavel Udod has proposed to amend the Federal aviation rules (FAP) in order to allow flights in the EEU countries at the initial stage of operation of the airline. According to the current edition of FAP, the new airline before going on international routes must fly on domestic routes for at least two years.

In turn, the Minister of transport of Russia Maxim Sokolov said that at the moment we have decided to make changes to the MOS, which allow airlines, recently created and using Russian aircraft, flights on regular routes, even if the number of vessels less than eight aircraft.

«Now the legislative decision to change the rules of licensing, we can now claim as the carrier is already on international flights with the restriction of geography on the countries included in the Eurasian economic Union, such as Armenia, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan. We are now very careful talking, but we began preparations for international flights, we expect them to begin in 2018,» said Zvonarev.

In addition, the airline plans to open 23 new directions in Russia in 2018. At the moment Azimut announces the opening of new flights to Kazan, Samara, Ufa, Omsk, Samara, Simferopol, Nizhni Novgorod.

The idea to create an airline for transportation in the South of Russia appeared in 2016. One of the investors of the project was the co-owner of Vnukovo airport Vitaly Vantsev. The company is based in the new airport Platov in the Rostov region and Krasnodar. In Moscow the creation of the database are planned.

By 2022 the airline’s fleet will consist of 16 vessels at the moment of the company in the presence of four aircraft. In the spring of 2018 it is expected that another four courts. The airline plans until the end of 2017 to transport 100 thousand passengers, and in 2018 — to 700 thousand. At the moment the airline operates flights from Rostov to Moscow, St.-Petersburg, Novosibirsk, Yekaterinburg, Samara, Sochi, Omsk via Moscow and Makhachkala. In the capital of Dagestan and Saint Petersburg, you can also fly from Krasnodar.
