President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the Congress of «United Russia», listed the tasks that need to be addressed to ensure the steady progress of Russia «in the world of tomorrow». Among the priority he mentioned increasing economic growth, poverty reduction, business development, changes in the health system and education.

In particular, Russia needs to create a new labour market and a modern system of vocational education, said the President.

According to him, it is necessary to achieve long-term sustainable increase in real incomes of Russians, to increase pensions and social support, as well as to continue work on poverty reduction, the scope of which «is a threat to the stability and unity of our society.»

The President stressed that this situation «just humiliates people.»

«Zero tolerance needs to be a situation where people with a popular profession, qualifications for his work receives very little money, literally making ends meet,» he added.

To fight poverty, according to the President, should be based on economic growth, is to target it in the same way as it did with inflation.

This is not to give unrealistic promises, as it was in the early 1990-ies, when under the pressure of circumstances, the Parliament and the government often took an unenforceable decision.

«This way certainly can not go, we remember what it led to — it led to the fact that in 2000, the poverty line was more than 40 million people, at that time one third of the population almost,» reminded the head of state.

Putin stressed that we must build tasks in the long term, and most importantly — to explain to Russians what is and what is done.

One of these goals, the President called the increase in growth of the Russian economy. According to him, Russia should not only gain a firm foothold in the top five largest global economies, but also to get closer to advanced countries in terms of GDP per capita. And for this we need to ensure that the economy has reached the world and exceeded it.

Russian companies must enter global markets, so the development of small and medium business remains a major political, economic and social challenge for the coming years.

«Russia should become a space of genuine economic freedom for all who run his business for tens of thousands of new start-UPS, large family businesses, farms and individual entrepreneurs. And this is also a guarantee of the irreversibility of our sustainability», — said Putin.

According to him, the necessary changes in the health and education infrastructure. Without it not to solve another key problem — to give the Russian economy innovative. In addition, it will require adjustment and the tax system.

«Russia is a country with a millennial history. But we don’t have to treat it like a beloved grandmother — time to give her medication to her did not hurt and to stop. Not at all. We must make Russia a young, aspiring forward. And with each new generation it is and becomes,» concluded the President.
