The ruble becomes more stable, in part due to low inflation in Russia, said the head of the Bank of Russia Elvira Nabiullina.

«Low inflation is, in principle, affect the rate more stable, is one of the positive effects of low inflation. I want to note that this stabilisation occurs in a floating exchange rate. Floating rate may be stable,» — said Nabiullina in interview to TV channel «Russia 24».

«In General, we see that many of the economic indicators, budgetary indicators and inflation — already respond less to fluctuations in oil prices», — said the head of the Central Bank.

CBR 15 December reported that inflation in annual terms fell to 2.5%. The regulator has revised the inflation forecast for end-2017 to 2.4 to 2.6% from 2.5% and 2.7%, and by 2018 expects inflation at 3.5-4%.
