The mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin decided to revive the tradition to give mothers of newborns dowry at the time of discharge from the hospital.

«That’s what I thought. There was also once a tradition to give dowry for a newborn. Let her revive. With the New year upon discharge from the hospital in Moscow all mothers will receive a dowry from the city for their babies» — he wrote in his blog.

According to the attached example of a set of dowry may, in particular, consist of: carton box, mattress, flannelette blanket, Romper, bodysuit, mittens, booties, rattle and so on.
