. The President of Russia Vladimir Putin will take part in the informal summit of the CIS.

In the meeting on Tuesday will also be attended by the presidents of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, Kazakhstan’s Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kyrgyzstan, Sooronbai Jeenbekov, Moldova Igor Dodon, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoev.

It is expected that the participants will sum up the Russian presidency in the CIS in 2017 and will exchange opinions on cooperation in various fields. In 2018 the Commonwealth will be President of Tajikistan.

In Sochi 11 October passed a formal summit of the CIS Council of the heads of Commonwealth countries. And on December 19, Putin met in the Kremlin with the heads of security services of CIS countries discussed cooperation in the security sphere.

The Commonwealth of independent States, an interstate Association of most former Soviet republics. It was established on 8 December 1991 the leaders of Belarus, Russia and Ukraine. 21 Dec 1991 they were joined by Azerbaijan, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan. 22 January 1993 in Minsk at the CIS summit adopted the Charter of the Commonwealth. It is not signed by Ukraine and Turkmenistan, which thus de jure are not members of the CIS. Turkmenistan since 2005 involved in the community as «associate member».
